 Introductory Meeting Initially we meet with prospective clients to hear about what you envision for your new home. Photos, sketches or clippings you have help us to understand your ideal. We will share some of our projects we think may be of interest to you and talk about how Structural Insulated Panels (SIP), green building and Timber Frame construction can help you achieve your goals. Ideally we walk your property to orient ourselves as to views, light, solar gain, wind direction as well as unique features of your site. Following this initial meeting we typically enter into a Design Agreement before proceeding with the design phase. Design Phase: With our client we determine the features of their design and generate a 3-D model for review. Homeowner’s are able to see features of their design from different perspectives and make any necessary changes before the plans are converted to a set of construction documents. Construction Documents At this point the process for developing the client’s home design into construction documents includes engineering and architectural review. The resulting set of professional plans will help to speed the building permit process. Our plans are copyrighted. Materials Timber Frame - Our custom design includes all pre-cut trusses, beams, braces, brackets, posts and exterior components made of Douglas Fir a strong species of wood known for its tight grain. Douglas Fir is ideal in wide span and heavy load applications. All mortise and tenon joinery is computer controlled machine cut and extremely accurate. Structural Insulated Panels (SIP) - Pre-cut panels are used to wrap the timber frame. Besides offering a quiet comfortable home with superior indoor air quality, SIP construction can result in up to 60% savings on heating and cooling costs. Sip panels eliminate jobsite waste and are fast to install saving time and money. Windows and Doors -Included in the package are Eagle Windows and Doors. These premium quality windows are metal clad exterior full wood interior units with choices of up to 50 colors outside and up to 9 different wood species. One of our reps will be on the jobsite to advise you or your contractor for up to three days. |
