At Cougar Creek Timber Frame our design team, led by owner/designer Cristy Carlson, is dedicated to building a home that you and your family will love and cherish for generations.  Before the actual design begins, our design team will meet with you and visit your home site. 

 

In the meetings, our design team will discuss your vision and review your photos, sketches, drawings, and concepts.  Through these meetings we develop a thorough understanding of your vision including:

• The size, configuration, and style of your home
• Primary uses and objectives for the spaces in your home
• The style and look of timbers you prefer
• Your budget

 

During the site visit we will identify site specific opportunities and constraints. Walking the terrain helps us to:

• Get a feel for the lay of the land
• Determine solar and wind direction
• Understand the views you want to optimize
• Comprehend how you want to situate your home
• Effectively check setback requirements, height restrictions, easements, snow loads, and utility locations   

Using the latest computer technology, Cougar Creek Timber Frame designers begin by creating conceptual floor plan and elevation drawings for your review. Our Architectural Desktop™ drawings are easily converted to PDF’s for electronic mailing and your mark-up based on our continuing dialog. As we approach final design, we prepare architectural and construction drawings adhering to code requirements. These drawings are easily converted to ¼” scale for hard copy review and submittal to city and/or county building departments.
